Welcome to McLaw Living Roofs

Sedum Supply.

Before installing a sedum roof you must ensure that a suitable waterproof membrane is in place. Whilst a sedum roof can be laid on any flat roof or a roof with a slope of up to 20 degrees, at McLaw Living Roofs we only recommend that it is laid on top of our EPDM waterproof membrane, which provide the ideal base to protect the roof and the environment for many years to come. Details of our waterproof membrane are available, click here for details

McLaw Living Roof Ready-to-Lay Sedum Roof Pack.
To make the installation of your own environmentally friendly green roof simple and straight forward, McLaw Living Roofs have created a Ready-to-Lay Sedum Pack containing 3 essential elements.
• Green Mat (base for sedum roof - retains water and provides insulation)
• Grow Layer (special growth medium for you to spread across the green mat)
• Sedum Sprout Mix (fasting rooting sedum sprouts)

Please Note
• Before laying your Sedum Roof you must ensure that a suitable waterproof membrane is in place.
• Once laid your sedum roof will take approximately one year for the sedum carpet to become established.

Ordering Ready-to-Lay Sedum Roof Pack
The Ready-to-Lay sedum roof pack is supplied in metre squares – so all you need to do is calculate how many metres you require and we will supply the correct quantity of all the elements you need.
For convenience each metre square will consist of 4 x ½ metre squares. This makes it lighter and more manageable to install.
Please calculate how many 1-metre squares you will need to cover your roof.

Slotted retention strip
A slotted retention strip is needed along the lowest part of the roof to hold the sedum in place. The slots in the retention strip allow excess rainwater to drain away. The slotted retention strip is screwed into place along the lowest edge / edges of the roof. Please calculate the length of retention strip you require. Please note the slotted retention strip is only available in full linear metres.

5” Tape
Once you have screwed or glued the retention strip in place you will need to protect the edge of the retention strip with 5 inch tape. Please order enough flashing tape to cover the length of your retention strip. If you do not install the flashing tape over the base of the retention strips, you risk water penetrating your roof (if the retention strips are mechanically fixed) or the retention strips becoming loose (if the retention strips are glued onto the EPDM)”. Must be glued using the ‘Splice Tape Adhesive’.

Tape Adhesive (scrubber pad and handle included) – to secure flashing tape
Tape adhesive needs to be applied to both the EPDM waterproof membrane and the 3” tape (see our installation guide) using the scrubber pad.
When using with the universal moulded pipe flashing or the 5” tape, you only apply it to the EPDM.
